Prepping with Homegrown Raspberries

In Denmark, the authorities keep reminding us to be prepared for emergencies. And I get it — it’s not an easy task when no one really knows what kind of emergencies might come our way. So, we’re told to do a little bit of everything: store water, buy canned food, keep a small battery-powered radio — just in case.

But as an eager raw foodist, I couldn’t help wondering:
Why not add a touch of green to the emergency supply kit?
If we can grow our own food — even a little — that’s both practical and uplifting. After all, fresh life on your balcony or windowsill can bring a bit of calm when things feel uncertain.

Here are a few simple ideas to get started:
🌿 On the balcony: berries such as raspberries and strawberries
🌱 In the windowsill: herbs like basil, parsley, and mint
🌾 Sprouts: for example, mung bean sprouts — they grow fast and are full of nutrients

Preparing doesn’t have to be gloomy. It can also mean reconnecting with nature and finding small ways to care for yourself.

I’d love to hear your ideas — what would you grow for your own emergency garden? 💚
